Meet Laura

For twenty-five years, Laura has taught, led, and coached across the country within many schools and organizations. Laura has personally mentored, managed, and coached a variety of leaders in her career, from novice Assistant Principals to seasoned CEOs. She has led differentiated development sessions and workshops for small leadership teams, for cohorts of fellowships, and for entire companies. She has served as a teacher in Williamsburg, Virginia and Indianola, Mississippi and as a teacher, Assistant Principal, Principal and Chief Academic Officer for a district of public schools in Washington, DC. She currently serves as a member of the KIPP Foundation Leadership Coaching team, strategizes with the KIPP Foundation Network Talent Team, and is the Founder of LBP Coaching & Consulting. Laura graduated with her B.A from The College of William & Mary, earned her teaching licensure from Mississippi Valley State University and was Certified as a Personal and Executive Coach through the ICF accredited, CaPP Institute.

As a Coach, Laura thoughtfully builds a trusting partnership with each of her clients. She centers in their core strengths and their goals for themselves, helps them define their vision for their future, and transformationally coaches them toward that vision. Laura deeply believes in leadership empowerment and voice, in leading and living with healthy boundaries, in coaching with and for emotional awareness, in the power of expanding our own narratives and perspectives, and in the necessity of growing our awareness and agency so that we can thrive in all areas of our life. Additionally, as a facilitator of learning, Laura believes in the co-creation of inclusive spaces where everyone present can belong and connect, a space where we can all bravely un-learn and evolve together. To live these values and beliefs herself, Laura remains centered by daily engaging in her own continuous learning, emotional awareness, and in her abiding faith.

Laura works and travels from her home on the coast of North Carolina. Laura is a widow warrior, a mom, a daughter, a sister, an aunt, and a friend. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling to new places, taking walks along the water, winning Scrabble games, bingeing reality TV and reading as many books as time allows. Laura’s greatest peace is found in greeting the sunrise every morning and trying anew every day.
